"GREAT NEWS FOR 2008"
 Welcome EOQHA members. We would like to wish everyone Happy
Holidays and thank everyone for making 2007 a great year. Now let me bring
you up to speed on the important and exciting news for 2008!!!!!!!!!
First, the annual awards dinner will be held on 1/12/08 at "The
Place On The Square" at 5:00 pm for cocktails and dinner at 6:00 pm.
Bring
your check book because we will have our usual auction with the great team
of Shane Watson, Auctioneer and Nelson Otero as the assistant. Eloise Mautz
has once again created another beautiful quilt to be auctioned off. If you
were not there last year, you missed the best part of Shane and Nelson
working the crowd for a great cause, "YOU the members". Thanks to everyone,
especially Brent for the great awards and Kathy and Paul for great door
prizes. Let's make this year great as well. For information on the banquet,

Second and the most exciting news is our first show this year is
moving to the Ohio State Fairgrounds (the Ohio Expo Center) from Coshocton
fair grounds. We will be using the Scottsdale arena and stalling in the
Gilligan building. As you know, the fairground does not allow horses to be
shown out of the trailer for the day, so please contact Beth Himes for Stall
reservations. We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to
the show.
***We are giving back to members. OQHA has approved a horse show
incentive program. EOQHA will receive $4000 in $100 vouchers to be given out
at one of our shows. EOQHA has chosen the first May show that is being held
at the Ohio State Fairgrounds May 10-11, 2008. We are very excited about
this program and will choose 40 classes to hand out the $100 vouchers
throughout the show. The vouchers will be handed out randomly to an
exhibitor in each of the 40 chosen classes. You must be an OQHA member to be
eligible. EOQHA and OQHA are looking forward to giving back to those who
participate in out shows. We hope all of you will come and join in on the
fun and take advantage of the generosity.
Highlights for the 2008 show season
- addition of Green Trail and Green Western Riding (now AQHA
approved)
- Amateur Select Western Riding, Select Hunter Under Saddle and
Select Equitation are added to all shows
- NSBA dual approved for all shows for Western Pleasure, Hunter
Under Saddle, Trail and Western Riding
- All day fees that include Novice Youth and Youth (and Novice
Amateur, Amateur and Select) continue!

SPONSORSHIP: Our sponsorship committee is working hard to obtain
sponsorships for the 2008 show season. Any trainer or organization that
would like to sponsor the association for all 4 shows for a modest fee will
receive some great benefits. Also, the committee is looking into the idea of
getting sponsors for classes at the futurity show. We are hoping to possibly
get enough sponsors to make some of the classes pay back some serious money.

Attention
Breeders, the Stallion Service Auction is a great way for mare owners
to purchase breedings to great stallions at a reduced rate. It also
benefits the stallion owners by making the resulting foal crops eligible
for the Breeders Classic
